Support Our Troops

What is your reaction when you see the flag marched by during a parade? Do you take your hat off, stand up? What do you do when you hear the Star Spangle Banner played? Do you cover your Heart? Do you appreciate the freedom to talk openly about the taxes being to high, the need for better schools or health care? Even the right to call the leaders of this country names? While we as Americans believe in certain "rights", such as freedom of speech, the right to bare arms, the right to assembly, and the right to worship (or not to worship)God as we like, they are really privileges. Won by each generation since the late sixteen hundreds by the blood of our ancestors.

Again our sons, brothers, fathers, mothers, wives, sisters, are being called upon to shed blood to protect our security. Do you think about the hardships they face? The hardship of those who wait at home, hoping they do not get a visit from a military official?

The next Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, go to the parades and salute the flag as it passes by, thank a vet for caring enough about this country to give a part of his life, and give a small prayer for those who gave all they had to give us the freedoms we take for granted.
